According to HFSC:
- Without sprinklers, today’s home fires become deadly in as little as two minutes.
- These fires put residents and firefighters at risk from toxic smoke, heat and flames.
- With sprinklers, in a home fire the sprinkler closest to the fire will activate when the temperature reaches about 165F.
- The sprinkler will spray water directly on the fire, controlling or putting it out. In most home fires just one sprinkler activates.

At approximately 8 p.m. on August 23rd 2021, Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue coordinated a systematic search for a missing resident with the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, Carroll County Fire Rescue, Georgia State Patrol, and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. That search concluded at approximately 1:20 on August 24th when Mr. Raymond Campbell was located. Mr. Campbell was found to be in good health and in good spirits and we thank God for this wonderful outcome. We would also like to send our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the departments and members of the public safety family that arrived last night without pause in a combined effort with one goal in mind. We are very thankful for our working relationship with the surrounding public safety departments. We are also very thankful for all the prayers, sharing of updates, and those that volunteered in our community to help find one of our own. We love watching our community come together as a family. Considering the circumstances, we tried to get information out to the public as quickly and accurately as possible and we want to thank you all for sharing that information with friends and family, as it can be very influential in times like these. During the time of the coordinated search, emergency services to the residents of Fairfield Plantation was still unwavering, attending to several unrelated medical emergencies throughout the community. We take pride in serving our community and we thank you all for your continued support!

SMOKE ALARM BATTERY GIVEAWAY
October is Fire Prevention Month! The goal of Fire Prevention Month (and Fire Prevention week October 4th – 10th) is to raise fire safety awareness, and help ensure your home and family has a plan and is ready for the unexpected. In 1922, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) named the second week of October Fire Prevention Week in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire in 1871. Today, we celebrate Fire Prevention Week and Month by raising fire safety awareness and educating families, students and communities across the United States. During this month, fire departments provide education to their communities, and encourage parents and loved ones to practice fire safety and whole home safety.
This year during Fire Prevention week Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue will distribute free smoke alarm batteries to Fairfield Plantation residents from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, October 10th, at the Fairfield Plantation Recreation Center located at 6195 Lakeview Parkway. The smoke alarm batteries will be distributed to residents on a first come, first serve basis and while supplies last. This event will be a drive-thru style pickup in the parking lot of the Rec Center. Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue would like to thank the Carroll County Board of Commissioners and Carroll County Fire Rescue for the generous donation of a 1993 Sutphen Fire Engine. This fire engine will be used to carry out the mission of the Fire Department to better serve the residents of Fairfield Plantation while also relieving our budget from replacing outdated fire apparatus. Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue currently operates two fire engines, one of which is in great need of being replaced. We plan to replace our oldest fire engine with this donated Sutphen Fire Engine and it will be designated as Engine 11, our first due out engine. Fairfield Plantation P.O.A and Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Carroll County Board of Commissioners and Carroll County Fire Rescue for this much needed donation.

Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue is committed to being an active member of the community we proudly serve in so many ways. Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue responds to a number of different emergencies beyond just calls for fires. Our personnel are highly trained in firefighting, emergency medical treatment, automotive extrication rescues and so much more. In the event of a medical emergency, Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue’s personnel can arrive in minutes and begin life saving medical treatment long before an ambulance arrives on the scene. As well as responding to emergency calls for help, the fire department also responds to a number of different types of non-emergency calls for assistance.
Along with responding to calls, the fire department is also working behind the scenes in several different ways to keep the community safe. Public education, disaster and severe weather preparedness, safety inspections, and fire prevention inspections are just a few of the behind the scenes activities we do. Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue Fire Marshal’s office handles a number of those activities. The State Fire Marshal and Safety Fire Commissioner has deputized the Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue Fire Marshal to investigate fires for arson and to determine the origin or cause of all fire incidents; implement and enforce the State of Georgia’s Rules & Regulations and State Minimum Fire Safety Standards. The Fire Marshal’s office performs yearly fire inspections of all public buildings, performs in home fire and safety inspections at the request of residents, organizes public education and fire prevention events, and instructs public fire prevention and CPR classes. A working smoke alarm can mean the difference in life and death, so the fire department also routinely installs smoke alarms to those in need.
Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue enjoys being an active member of the community that we serve. Visit our website for information on our fire department and all that we do in our community. We also ask that you follow us on our Facebook page for updates and community announcements & activities.
