Volunteer Firefighter Requirements
Volunteer Firefighter Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- No felony within past 10 years.
- No drug use within past 3 years.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must have a reliable vehicle.
- No serious traffic violations in past 3 years.
- No DUI convictions in past 7 years.
- Volunteers must make 25% of calls
- Must have 204 hours of training a year, required for ISO and GFSTC.
- Must have 24 hours a month station duty.
- Must successfully complete Georgia Basic Firefighter 1 Course within 1 year of assignment.
- Must Successfully complete EMR (Emergency Medical Responder) course within 1 year of assignment.
- Must possess a valid Class F Driver’s License in order to operate Fire Engine.
- Must adhere to Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue SOPs.
- Firefighters are issued equipment for responding to calls and for preforming their duties on said calls. Upon receipt of Fire Department equipment, the Firefighter assumes full responsibility for proper care and maintenance of the assigned equipment. If The firefighter leaves the Department, he/she is to return all equipment at once. If the Firefighter fails to return the equipment they will be responsible for the cost of said equipment.
